This old house needed a new furance and then came the liner. After two years the chimney then leaked into the house via the attic and destroyed an entery room. Our Ins. Co. said repair the roof then we will pay for the room repair. It was not the roof, the chimney bricks are now loose and moisture is coming in. The moisture has caused lots of unsightly damage. I need to know what is put on a chimney inside the house(chimney is in the middle of the kitchen/dinning room). The paint is peeling and so is all the other stuff that is under the paint. House is built in 1925. What is all the stuff on the bricks inside the house????
