cinder blocks

my father-in-law is building a house i'm helping the best i can.
i'm wondering what is the "R" value of cinder block?
the complete exterior walls are 10 ft high block was told that the r value
is 5

5 sounds low to me so i thought i would ask someone who might know

This info is ALL over the WEB. Visit ColoradoEnergy.org and Marshall High School, WI.

I hope that's not all he's counting on for insulation, unless the house is below 15 degrees latitude.
