cockbeading?

05/28/2008 08:53 AM McLaren1592

Hey Guys,

Why on the top and the bottom of the drawer, the cockbeading is 3/4 deep and on the sides its about a 1/4 or so?

I get that you don't want to cut through your tails and pins, that explains the sides, but why bigger on the top and bottom... is it so when you open the drawer you see one clean piece of wood running across the top?

Just wondering why it just doesn't go about a 1/4 all the way around.... chiseling the little miters is going to be fun

thanks
