cold living room. help!!!

09/19/2009 10:40 AM coldgirl1

So I have the worst heat/ac setup. I live in a townhouse 2 floors 1 zone heat/ac and the unit is upstairs on the 2nd floor. The problem is my living room is a step down with vaulted ceilings and a skylight that leave no place to hang a fan. The force hot air heat just will not warm the space. One wall is an interior wall and there is a fire place that puts off no heat at all unless you are sitting a foot and 1/2 in front of it. The room has hardwood on concrete floors.Plus there is a 9ft sliding glass door. Which is almost 1 whole wall. I buy a new space heater every year hoping it will be better than the last. please please help! any suggestions? room is about 18ft x 11ft

Stone cold

Your room is made of concrete and glass which are forms of stone. Windows are about 40 degrees in the winter, so give off no heat and lose much.

If you have gas heat, you are in luck as heating with electric can be expensive.

Increase the efficiency with porcelain panels that get hot and project heat in to the room through radiation:

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.
