I just put a new roof on this past year and added ridge vent instead of pod vent. I also have continuous soffit venting. This winter I have had a lot of condensation in my attic which I did not have last year. Now the snow is gone from my roof and the shingles are buckling so I pulled some off to take a look and the felt was wet so I cut the felt back and all the wood under it was wet too. I have 4 inches of blown insulation and no vapor paper against the drywall from the ceiling. Then I look in my garage, which is not heated, and all the wood in the ceiling has ice on it. I've run out of ideas as to what could be the problem. Any suggestions??? One more thing, I back up to a swamp and have heard of moisture coming from the ground, I'm not sure if that makes a difference. |
