condensation

01/19/2008 02:35 PM michaelgreen

We are haing a cold winter here in central Canada. There is a considerable amount of condensation in the area where the furnace air intake pipe comes into the house. The water is drippeing onto stuff below it which has to be there because of limited storage area in the basement. What can I do to reduce/eliminate the condensation?

Insulate the intake pipe with rubber-like refrigeration tubing insulation. The idea is to keep the surface warmer in temperature so water doesn't condense on the pipe.

Available at heating/AC/plumbing suppliers or on-line

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.
