10/20/2003 09:31 PM jenna703

hello,
I cannot get the craftsman keypad model 139.53684 to work with either remote 139.53879 or 139.53681b. I can get the two remotes to work, but then the keypad does not work. I also have a honda oddesey that works with the keypad, but not with the remotes...would that have anything to do with it? HELP!!!!

ok i have the Craftsman model# 139.53681B
& one of my remotes quit working & i tried replacing the battery but no luck, so i had to buy a new one, i got it reprogramed, but now my keypad outside my house is not working at all, i tried my password, but no luck & i can't set a new password unless the old one works? So how do i set a new password? I do not have the papers that came with it since i bought it back in 1997. If you can help me please e-mail me at dj_ponyboy@hotmail.com

Not a big problem

This is due to the fact that you are most likely using 2 different radio control formats. The Craftsman formats allow for the Security+ format and the older Billion code format to be interchangeable, however, you cannot mix both of these, the result will be as you describe. Only one of the formats will be programmable at the same time, this means that one of your remotes is a different format.

A secondary explanation is that those have a memory cap of 8 remote devices, if you program anymore, it will delete the last one in line and so on. To make sure you have less than 8 and that, over the years, you have not programmed more than that, delete the memory completely by pressing on the LEARN button continuously for 10-12 seconds or until the LED light goes off, then reporgram your remote devices individually according to the instructions.
