dark paint flat? semi gloss?

10/15/2007 12:39 PM lulutu

I am painting my living room walls with a deep blue. I'm using flat paint and the result is beautiful, but every scratch and fingerprint shows up on the wall. I just finished painting a day ago. Is this part of the drying process or should I have used semi gloss or a different type of paint?

In dark colors you should use a satin finish as they do mark up rather easily in a flat finish, but it does take latex paints thirty days to cure out. The sherwin williams company has come out with a new darker tint base in the Duration Home paint line that will work great.

Hope this helps out.
