we are building a house and it is or was a grain silo for many years.... it is 27 feet across and 30 feet tall.... i need help in how to cut in doors and windows without discoloring the galvinized finish.... and also has anybody done this befor? arizdon needs a little help!! we are just finishing the pulmbing and almost ready to pour the floor.... then we will move the silos on to the slab... let us know if there is anybody out there that can help...thanks

This may not be of much help...but my wife has talked for years about this grain silo that's been converted to living space in Ohio. I did a internet search on "Ohio Hotel Silo" and these links (among others) came up.

While it doesn't give you the specifics on getting windows, doors, balconies, etc--it might give you some ideas.

P.S., I think it is a GREAT idea. Probably in Arizona as much as anywhere. Anyway, perhaps these will get you going--or get some other posters to contribute as well.

Try googling the oslo student silo. and the quaker square in akron ohio. they are both made up of concrete silos but they should give you some ideas. and when youre finsished could you talk to me? I'm interested in doing this myself except with a concrete silo.
theres a company in britain that does this sort of stuff but i cant remember where. the best bet is google.
