dovetails

hey Dude, I sorta went the route you're going to go... no dovetail jig, I don't even have a dovetail bit for my router...I did waste some money on one of those magnetic Veritas saw guides... it works only with that saw, the saw is useless without ( well maybe for flush cutting its okay ) and the big thing is it doesn't teach you how to use the saw...

I had a little saw sorta like Tommy's but a few of the teeth broke and I screwed it up trying to sharpen it... so I bought the LN saw.... its great.... I have a japanese one too but its a crosscut tooth pattern, it doesn't cut quick and I can't make it go real straight.... so I'm all in favour of the western style.... since I don't have some kind of unlimited budget to go and buy all kinds of saws, I'm going to stick with what works...

good luck, have fun with the mohag
