I'm not sure what your question is. You can have either a downdraft or a hood, you shouldn't have both. I think all the models that have a grill option will be a downdraft but I could be wrong. Whichever way you go, make sure either can be vented properly to the outdoors. Long vent runs and/or lots of elbows will reduce the amount of air that can be exhausted (possibly to the point of being useless).
