drilling 3/8 hole thru granite counter top

01/04/2008 06:18 PM Damant

Like the subject says, I'm drilling a 3/8th hole thru a granite counter top to run a water line for a coffee maker. I've got good masonry bits (2 to be specific) and I've rented a Milwaukee 1/2" right angle drill. Figured that I would keep my RPM's down and the angle would help me keep easy, steady pressure seeing that above the counter is a cabinet that would hamper the use of a regular 1/2" drill. Is water going to be necessary? Do I sound like I'm ready to go? Do I sound like I know what I'm doing? :-) Oh, the granite is about 1" thick.

Thanks,
Damant

I've got two slightly used 3/8th masonry bits for sale. Guess I don't know what I'm doing. :-) Any suggestions for a do-it-myselfer?
