Wife surprise me, she paint exterior doors while I was at work. 2 months later paint started to peel leaving primer behind. Whats the best way to remove paint? Paint comes off somewhat easy by pulling an picking. |

Were the doors painted before? If so what type of paint (latex or oil based).
What type of paint did you use, again latex or oil based? |

Doors where new, with factory primer only. I hung them but didn't get chance to paint. The paint is 100% acrylic (valspar). I'm thinking maybe heat lamp? |

Heat lamp?
I would try one of the latex paint removers such as GOOF OFF to remover the paint you applied.
When you repaint the door leave it open as long as you can as the weatherstriping around the door can pull the paint off if the door is closed before it has had time to set up. I usually paint doors first thing in the morning so they have all day to dry before I close them. Also if there is a storm door in front of the main door you don't want the heat from that to build up and cause the paint to dry to fast and not adhear like it should. |
