fake ceiling beams

12/09/2004 04:00 PM vjoyandmike

can someone tell me if we can still purchase false styrofoam ceiling beams, which can be painted or stained to resemble wood and then stuck on with adhesive?

we have a high cathedral ceiling, popcorn finish, but all the verticalgyproc joints are cracking so not wanting to have to redo the whole ceiling, we are looking for a light beam alternative which could be used to camoflauge the cracks. any ideas

Fake beams--previous thread...

12/09/2004 04:20 PM k2

Hi vjoyandmike,

I did a quick search of our site and found a (hopefully) relevant thread. Though I can't vouch personally for or against any of its posters, Piffin is a "regular" on our BBS:

You might also try your own search; there have been several threads including on the "Fix It Forum"; good luck.

Regards,

We ordered our fake beams online at www.*****.net.
Got them within weeks.
They were so easy to put up and they look totally realistic.
Their customer service is spectacular too.
Give them a try!
Good Luck,
Janine

Reproduction Beams in the UK

04/08/2008 12:51 PM seamuswaldron

I managed to get reproduction beams from Oakleaf in the UK.

http://www.oakleaf.co.uk

(I had some old reproduction beams that needed to be replaced. I took the old ones down - which were covering pipes - inverted them and put them in the garden as a huge plant/flower pot. They look really good :-)
