I want to cover the brick of my existing fireplace with faux stone and am looking for a place to buy the stone and information on how to put ot on adn wonders if anyone has any experience in this and the pitfalls. Thank you |

Check out culteredstone.com it is an ownens corning company. We are looking to do 8x8 ft fireplace and hearth. Estimates for materials are about 1k and labor is about 1k. Most stone centers have this product. Look at having them cut a solid hearth as opposed to using heartstones. cost is about 1/3 and it is a nicer finished piece. |

Check out this site:

These guys use cement that they apply to the wall hand carve and custom color. It looks just like stone. It's way cheaper than cast or natural stone and is super fast. I've seen some of their work, they did a friend's house. They are in So Cal, but they travel for some projects. |
