floor beams

Trying to purchase a home. There is a bulge on side of foundation. Current owner says when they built house the floor beam was too long and the builders forced it to fit. Does that sound right to anyone? Is this a major problem?

That's one I never heard of. I recommend you hire a certified home inspector to look at the foundation. He/she will then tell you if it looks like a structural problem and recommend a contractor make repairs or a structural engineer look at the problem if it appears to be a design problem.
