i have a garage door opener manufactured by Challenger Inc, 15e Easy St., Bridgewater, NJ. I am unable to find a drive sprocket or parts list anywhere. The model is CH-1000. Patent 4231191 on the opener. Can anyone direct me to where parts are available? If the company has merged with another, I would appreciate that information also. thanks for your help in advance. |

I ran accross your posting regarding the Challenger CH-1000. I have two of these one of which has stopped working over the past few days.
It appears that the sprocket is broken.
Can you provide some insight as to how to remove the sprocket from the motor housing.
I have loosen the two nuts at the rear of the motor housing; however, there does not appear to be a straight forward way to get at the sprocket mechanism.
Can you help?
Thanks,

I don't know if you've already fixed your problem. I stumbled upon your posting while looking for the same part. I took mine apart without any trouble but now having fun finding the replacement. If you still need assistance in removing the bad sprocket let me know...
Just reply to this post and I'll be in touch. |

User manual or wiring diagram |

I also am in need of a user manual but for a Series 9500 model CH-1000. Not sure if there is any difference.
Found a manual on their web site http://www.allstarcorp.com/Manuals/Door_Operators/Residential/challenger.htm
but it is different than my opener. I have 3 terminals on the top and 3 on the right and it uses a Stanley Electronics 1090 device.
Any help useful
