Did you ever decide what to do? Let us know. I have T1-11 on my house and I will eventually replace this. I will more than likely go with Hardiplank. I think it looks better and appeals to me and more buyers if we sold. I will do this in about 5 years so hopefully we will all know more about hardiplank and its durability. |

We have decided to go with hardiplank but are still getting estimates...it will be very costly and we don't want to pick the wrong company, boy am I dreading this, but thanks for your opinion! |

I think you made the right choice on going with the HardiPlank siding as it looks good, and holds up great.
When you paint it be sure to go to the paint store and get the best exterior acrylic house paint they have as it is the best value for the money spent as it will last longer than a cheaper brand. You will want to use either a satin or semi-gloss finish and I would prime the siding with an acrylic primer and apply a finish coat over that. |
