My maple hardwood floor of 10 years is separating. I had it professionally refinished in the spring and was very happy with the work. I chose a water-based finish that is less toxic and love it. I've read about moisture and wood floors, but it hasn't done this in all the 10 years it has been down. Could the new finish be the reason? It is separating everywhere - very noticable gaps between the boards. We have put a portable humidifier in the room and had it running 24/7 for 2 weeks. The boards continue to separate. Any ideas? |
