heat pipe behind wood paneling

11/20/2008 12:29 AM suggi1

Just found out heat and humidity releases formaldehyde from wall paneling. We are just putting it up so as it is new and winter when the heat is on is there a problem as far as formaldehyde emission from the plywood?

One side (about 8 feet) has a heating pipe running across under the window from the bathroom to the garage which then goes around and up into the bedroom. Hopefully this is not a problem but I have read all sorts of stories on the internet. There was wood paneling there to begin with probably for over 30 years but I think the paneling was all real wood but we have started to replace it but can't seem to find the real stuff anymore. It is on the 1st floor level of a multilevel house and definitely needs pipe, etc. cover up and hubby doesn't feel wallboard or whatever would do a good cover up and look nice.

Thanks.
