help opening kickplate on a kenmore dryer

01/17/2008 11:41 PM monkaroo

Sorry if this is a repeat question; I've not found my model number discussed yet and would appreciate any help!

Dryer is a Kenmore 90 series.
Model #118.60922990
Serial # MJ4012215

I know I've got too much lint in there that I can't reach w/out opening the bottom front panel. Any suggestions?

thanks in advance!

Model number incorrect

** Kenmore Dryer Model 118.60922990 **

That model number is incorrect. I found a listing for a model 110.60922990

** help opening kickplate **

On the dryer model 110.60922990, the front lower access panel looks to pull/pry away from the cabinet toward its top. Once released there it should be able to be lifted off the lower spring clips and away from the cabinet.

I thought I had the model number right but was working quickly and in the dark as the dryer is outside the baby's room and getting him to sleep was also in progress, so I could have gotten it wrong. I tried prying at that very spot, but tonight will try with a flathead screwdriver or something like that. thanks very much for your help.

Putty knife?

** I thought I had the model number right **

Sears appliance identification tags can have the model number printed in several different type fonts and also with spaces in between different parts of it making it confusing for consumers to judge which parts are actually part of it.

** will try with a flathead screwdriver or something like that. **

Technicians often use a putty knife in such situations when necessary as it has less chance of damaging the panel finishes than a screwdriver usually does.
