hole in the wall

12/02/2002 05:49 PM tbone20tnt

I found a small hole in my exterior wall and I believe this where mice are coming in. If I spray foam insulation in the hole will it stop them or will they eat through it?

hole in the wall

Hi tbone20tnt,

Don't know. Just be sure to use the LOW expandable foam, not the HIGH expandable foam. ANd if there's anything 'around the hole, like a window or a door, be sure you don't over-do the spraying. If you do, neither may open, or close due to the expansion.

If they eat through the foam, go to plan B. You didn't say what material the hole was made in.

My best to ya and hope this helps.

tbone20tnt, I've found that filling the space with steelwool and then sealing the opening has worked well.
