I'm replacing my current sink and vanity top with a one piece sink/vanity top. I'm thinking of doing the job myself. Is this a difficult process? How do I remove the current components, hook up the plumbing lines, and secure the new top? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

One of the easier jobs, Misty. Shut off the two water valves under the vanity. Turn on the faucet for hot and cold to make sure nothing comes out. First remove the drain lines from the sink. Water is still in the drain so have a bucket and place it underneath. Take a wrench (I did not say pliers) and remove the two water lines at the valve ( you may want to have a small bowl or pan handy since a small amount of water will trickle out). It will be easier to handle if you now remove the sink top from the vanity. If it is a Formica counter, look for screws to remove from the underside.

On your new vanity install the faucet and drain lines before placing it on the vanity. Your back will appreciate it. I would suggest putting on new drain lines to help eliminate problems down the road. Then simply install all of the lines exactly as you removed them, turn on the water slowly and check for leaks.
