I bought several quarts in different colors from Lowe's to try out on my new shed. After painting areas with the different colors, I discovered that one of the paints was actually interior satin. Is it ok to just paint over this or will it cause problems later?
What do we do?

Contact the paint manfacture. If is Olypic or Cabot then they are the manufactors.

If it is Valspar, American (???) or other house brands then Valspar is the manfucature.

My guess is that the main difference is the UV resistance and weathering characteristics. And th at top coating it will be all htat is needed.

But the manufactor techsupport/customer support will have the answer. You are not the first person that has done something like that.

Might even have it on an Q&A on their website.

Thanks, It is Valspar. I was so annoyed after using half the can to notice the label was for interior and that the girl who had mixed 3 cans had mixed one of them with the wrong paint. I will try calling and checking the website. If I learn anything new I will post it here. I was mostly concerned that it would cause a top coat to peel.

The interior paint when used on the exterior may over time peel as it does not have the expansion and contraction properties that an exterior paint has. I would be sure to topcoat it as soon as possible with an exterior paint.
