My current home was built in the 1940's. It is too small and is in needed of MAJOR repair. Everything is falling apart. We hired an architect and decided to rebuild the house from the bottom up. I've been told that the interior walls will not be of the same construction as the original. The contractor told me that now the interior walls are hallow and basically drywall because it is less expensive and takes less time to put up. This has upset my parents tremendously. The original material used for building interior walls is rare and expensive because no one does this work anymore. Does anyone know anyone who still does this type of work and how I can contact them for an estimate. I can't remember the name of the material used but it started with the letter "L". I'm also on a time crunch since I'm suppose to start construction on the house within 2 weeks. Please help.
