kenmore 70 series washer

12/03/2007 05:59 PM gbudesheim

hi,

Recently i was in the middle of a wash on heavy cycle and after the washer had put water into the mach and rinsed it out it then put more water into it and was ready to rinse a second time but then it stopped what it was doing and started to buzz like a loud timer. At first i thought i had put too many clothes in it so i took some out until basically no clothes were in there. Still no luck in getting it to spin, rinse or anything else.. the model number to this is 11020712990 series ch1594215 type 111 any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much

...or anything else

** Still no luck in getting it to spin, rinse or anything else. **

It won't even agitate now?

If not, does it make any sounds when it should be agitating?

Does the timer advance all the way through the cycles on its own?

Motor?

Agitation, spin and drain are all driven by the same motor. If none of them are operating maybe there is a problem in that motor, maybe a problem in the timer or the wiring between them.

Does the washer make any sounds when these missing functions should be occurring??

You washer model was made for Sears by Whirlpool and is their 'direct drive' design. If you want to delve into it more deeply yourself, Whirlpool has a good repair manual available for that design of washer (see the following link) which might be helpful to you in tracking down the problem?
