i have a 110.60922990 dryer. it heats up in about 5-15 intervals...shutting itself off automatically. it gets hot just fine, and smells as if something is too hot. the removable lint trap is fine, and it appears that the hot air exhaust line that goes outside isn't clogged either. any suggestions???

my background...i've never worked on appliances, but i feel more than comfortable taking the cover off and getting my hands dirty, as long as someone can guide me.
