Has anyone tried to use the laminate for kitchen backlash instead of tile, wall paper, stainless material?

Sorry, I did not write my question clearly -
Has anyone tried to use the laminate for a FULL kitchen backlash (up to the cabinet, not the 4" standard) instead of tile, wall paper, stainless material when the countop is different material such as granite?
