I have a strip of unpaved land between the sidewalk and street of my property. It measures about 15ft by 2ft.

I'd like to do something with it to make it more pleasing, but I have a problem with exposed tree roots that come from trees on neighboring properties.

Are there any plants that would be good to use in this situation? What about ground covers or plants for rock gardens?
