lawn tractor question

08/06/2003 10:45 PM keggstanz

Anyone know where to go w/ a lawn tractor question? I have a very old one that worked very well until now - it runs fine but stalls after awhile. If i restart it immediately, it only runs in the choke position and at an unusually high speed. If i wait a few minutes and then restart it, it runs fine again for a little while, until it stalls and repeats this cycle. Any idea what kind of engine problem this is?

I have a 1959 small farm tractor that will do that if the fuel bowl (filter) fills with rust and crud from the fuel tank. It chokes off the fuel then after it sits it will fill the lines again and start up.
