Hi, Shahna.
I built a leanto once when I was a kid, but I don't think that will do. However, my friend Eugene just tore one down when he replaced it. I'll try to get a picture to post here. If you like it, I can try to ask him to draw up the plans for it. |

Eugene doesn't think he has the plan anymore, but it's not that difficult to put some together. I'll provide the photo tomorrow.
Again, though, what are you using the leanto shed for? And, approximately, how large do you want to make it in terms of foot print.
Also, what state are you in?
I am not an expert, but things that would seem to matter are:
*Is this a wood shed (need ventilation for drying
*Can one side be open or do you need to be able to lock it
*Do you get a lot of rain (will you need PT or dry pine and paint, type of shingles onthe roof, etc)
Eugene is pretty experienced at building things like this. If you can give me an idea what you are looking for, we might be able to give you something useful.
Another option, like I did, is to get some design software. I used Punch! Platinum. It's pretty easy, it has a Frame Wizard that will provide a whole bill of materials for you based on your Wall, Floor and Roof design.
Anyways, I look forward to hearin your answers. |

I need a plan for a small lean-to as well. I just need something that I can park my motorcycle under to get it out of the weather.
My thoughts are to use 4 4x4's as my post and put a one sided roof onto it. I can't figure out in my mind how to make and attach the roof to the post.
Thanks for your help,
Brian Morrison

try wrapping the 4x4's with 2x lumber for a roof support. |
