lino v.s. ceramic tile

Does any one have any suggestions as to the pros and cons of going with ceramic tile v.s. linoleum? I am torn as to which way to go.

Much depends on where you live and what you want to achieve. They both have their pros and cons and your values determine which to choose.

Vinyl is warm, soft, relatively inexpensive, easily replaced, subject to damage and it will wear out in time relative to the quality purchased.

Vinyl is cold, hard, more expensive, not easily replaced, very hard to damage, will not wear out and much more attractive.

Just my opinion....Living in the north I prefer it in some rooms but not others.

Vinyl is also a little bit forgiving of a
less than solid floor beneath it. Ceramic
requires an absolutely rigid subfloor, or
you'll get cracks.
