live white goods

11/10/2007 02:00 PM wittywoodworker

Had a bit of a shock (literally) the other day. Washing machine, deep freezer and fridge were all live. All 3 are plugged into an extension lead and then into the electric socket. Have tried plugging them in seperately but no difference. Switched everything off overnight and in the morning things were ok. Again today they are live and give quite a belt. What can I do?
As always thanks in advance

I see you're posting from Turkey.....this BBS is hosted in the USA

How are these appliances grounded ?.....I see you use a 220V/50Hz system with Two round prong plugs.....

Our system uses 120/240V 60Hz.....for an 120 V appliance like a Washing Machine, Freezer and Frig we use a three prong plug......Two flat prongs and one round Ground

It's never a wise practice to operate multiple appliances on an extension cord......

Here's a Link to a UK Forum that has an international audience........
