low asbestos content tile under carpet

03/09/2005 10:26 PM clujman

I'm ripping up old carpet in my basement and a small percentage of the old tile under the carpet is coming up with the carpet. I had the tile tested and it tested for 2% asbestos content. What tile sticks I plan on leaving in place. Was wondering how to deal with the small bit tile that is coming up, especially given the low asbestos content. Should I be concerned? And if so, what precautions should I take when removing the carpet? Thanks. The house was built in 1962. I have no idea how long the tile has been down.
