Short height microwave?

** I need a shallow microwave to fit. **

You mean you're looking for a 'short' microwave. On appliances "shallow" would usually refer to its depth front to rear.

AFAIK most OTR microwave ovens are about the same height (and depth for that matter), I don't know of any shorter, sorry. (There are only 3-4 manufacturer's of OTR microwaves in the whole world. The other manufacturers just rebrand those manufacturer's products.)

That should be sufficient to mount an OTR microwave oven. The minimum distance required is usually 30" from cooking surface to overhead cabinets. Check the installation instructions of the model you have in mind at the manufacturer's or dealer's web site.

yes I need a short microwave. The standard sizes just don't seem to leave enough space under them for a large pot to fit.

Standard OTR spacing

That is a drawback of putting a microwave in that spot unfortunately. I don't think you'll find any models with much different dimensions.
