mobile homes are governed by HUD

James,
So sorry, you can't legally add rooms unless they are additions made by a mobile home manufacturer. It's an engineering issue. HUD has to approve the addition. Your mobile home (no matter how permanent the foundation) is not governed by the building codes in your locality, it's under HUD. My understanding is that you can add a non-attached structure.
That's if you need a home inspection. People do additions all the time, but they aren't legal. You need to ask yourself if you'll ever sell this mobile or need to move it. Will you or anyone else need an occupancy permit? We do our remodel/ build activities by the book (always code and inspected) because it solves problems down the line, but that's not a choice everyone makes.
