moths, moths, moths

We recently moved into a trailer that had been vacant for a few monthes. And we seem to have a problem with little moths. They are everywhere. My biggest problem is with them in the kitchen, getting in food etc. Any idea how to get rid of them? Would bug bombing work? Never found moth balls that are safe for food areas. Any help would be wonderful as they are really a pain.

I just read your post so, I hope you haven't given up yet.

What you probabaly have are 'grain moths' which lay their larva in grains, cereals, flour, dried fruit, nuts etc. They will get into anything even through plastic bags. The best way to get rid of them is to make sure that they have no food to eat. Any dry food should be in sealed containers (thick plastic or glass) that they can't get into. You may ocassionally find them in sealed containers if they had already infested the food before it was sealed. Make sure that there are no crumbs or other food left in cupboards. They make glue -type traps which attract them with phermones and which are fairly efficient. Expect it to take a few months to completely get rid of them.
