painting my appliances

10/04/2002 09:35 AM sewninluv

Hi, I would like to paint my appliences a green color.
1. Am I limited to only using appliance paint?
2. What kind of paints can I consider using?
3. Can you provide me with a link or book or something that I can get instructions from?

The appliances I will be painting are my stove, refrigerator, and dish washer.

All help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

thank you so much,
Karen

Do not attempt to paint the range's cooktop! There is no paint I know of that will withstand the temperatures in close proximity to the surface elements. Most will just discolour and look much worse than the original.

What you may be able to do for the stove top is to remove it and take it to a company that can reporcelain it. The rest of the appliances should be able to be painted without problems.
