painting my kitchen

07/16/2005 11:09 AM dadgumher

I am confused. We recently bought a new home (new to us anyway) and have painted the living room and dining room a gold color. I think it is called Oak Cask. We are very happy with it. Now for the kitchen...currently it has very busy wallpaper and we want to do away with that and put color on it. We cannot even hang a picture on the wallpaper because it disappears. Anyway everything is WHITE in there...the counters the cabinets and even the floors and appliances, so that is why I have to have some color. We do have one big window in the breakfast area. I need something that will flow from when you leave the living room into the kitchen. They are separate rooms, but still want it to flow smoothly. I don't have high ceilings so I am afraid of going with a dark green. I was thinking red but will that be too much? Maybe a terra cotta? Should I leave the ceiling white or paint it the same color I choose?

Any help you can give would be GREAT! THANKS!!! Donna
