painting over copper

07/07/2003 01:24 PM billyf58

Had a new window installed, instead of shingles over it they put a cooper roof. What can I use to clean, and paint it so it is bright and shinning.

Use a metal polish to buff the copper to a high shine. Then use an automotive clear lacquer to seal the copper and prevent oxidation. Someday, the clear will breakdown. It can be stripped with lacquer thinner and the process started over.
