painting paneling

I have heard that there is a new paint out there that you can paint directly over paneling without applying Kilz first. If this true and if so what is it. My entire house is paneling and would like to paint it to brighten it up. Should I clean it and then Kilz? Thank you

painting paneling

Hi there. I'm doing the same thing and was shown a product called "No Sand" at Home Depot. You just put it on, let it dry then prime and paint over it. Needs good ventilation to use but seems so much easier & cheaper. That Kilz stuff will kill you, I used it once and never again. Check it out and good luck.
