We are painting the walls and took off the strips that cover where the drywall joins. What do we use to cover the cracks? We were told that drywall tape will make it smooth and the walls are textured. |

You don't want to spackle the seams if there's a chance the home will be moved in the future. The strips are there because of movement in the walls when the home is moved. Spackle will crack and break up. I just painted over the strips. But I can tell you if you paint over the wallpaper, and the home is moved, you will get spots where the wall paper will shrivel up (roll)and tear. |

Thank you for the reply Ronnie. We will be moving the mobile home next week and want to paint the walls once it is stabilized again. So, the spackle will be good to use to cover the seams?? What a job this has turned out to be. Never again. Ha ha I am (or wasn't) a painter before all this. Learning it all the hard way. |
