placing stove at a window

10/25/2006 10:38 PM farmermom4

I am in the planning process of kitchen remodeling. I have a large window (about 60") in the kitchen and would like to move my 40" stove to the window. Is there any reason that I cannot or should not move my stove to the window? I was told that for insurance reasons (curtains + stove= fire hazard) that I could not do this, but there are other window treatment options. I like the idea of looking out over the back yard and garden as I cook.
