plastic protection for new installed woodfloors

07/14/2007 01:09 PM rodolfoojeda

I need to know if it is possible to buy a plastic protector (sheet) that is adhesive temporarely to a floor surface, which can be taken off after Remodeling is done. That plastic cover would be placed over a woodfloor in order to protect against dust, spills, scratches. Is there a distributor in the US. thanks

If you look in a copy of Fine Home Building magazine you will find at least one source advertiseed.

However, those won'd protect against some thing heavy or sharp being droped.

Better for use in areas that being walked through.

Other common methods are to put down a plastic to cover the whole floor and then to lay protecting boards over it. Homosot, 1/4" underlayment. Even cardboar refigerator cases.
