pump to well

04/07/2008 06:47 PM cj9113

my problem is i had a broken pipe under my trailer for the hot water heater, the plumber came and fixed the pipe. the problem i have now is that the pump goes to it's 50ibs pressure and then it fall to 30 within a couple of minutes. so it turns on and off. I've changed the switch and it still does the same. do i have to prime the tank or could there be another leak under my house???

It's still leaking

Shut off the main line valve past the pressure tank to your house. Watch the gauge, if the pressure falls, you have a leak back to and/or down the well.

If the pressure holds, the leak is on the house side of the shut off valve you closed.

It's likely you had two leaks and one wasn't visible.
