refurbishing corian countertop

I have a ten year old corian countertop in my kitchen. Do you think I could refinish the surface myself? What steps would I follow? Thanks so much for your advice.

It depends on the condition of thr surface. If it's just normal wear with scratches in the surface you may be able to get rid of most of them with a green Scotch Bright pad. Otherwise sandpaper is required. Wet or Dry paper from 3M in 220 grit is very agressive when used with water. Use it in a circular motion with water as a lubricant to remove the worst scratches, followed by 400 grit in the same pattern. Finish up with a green Scotch Bright followed by a red Scotch Bright pad. If all you need to do is remove the glossy surface, just use the red pad. Good luck.
