sap on deck

08/20/2000 09:32 PM bgt

I have a deck made with pressure-treated lumber. It had previuosly been painted over old stain. I used a drum sander to remove the paint and stain. Then restained the deck with an opaque stain/sealer. The wood was in good condition. Some of the wood now has sap coming out of it (especially from the knots). What is the best way to remove the sap and prevent it from coming out of the wood again?

I am having the identical problem - power washed the old stain off last year, then restained (2 coats). This summer have sap coming out of one board. Don't know best way to remove sap, and how to prevent it from coming back. Did you receive any replies/suggestions?
