sharpening jointer knives

I have a 6" jointer that is leaving nice stripes on my wood. Do you use your Tormek or send them out for sharpening?

If by stripes you mean the little ridges or lines left by a nick in the blades.... then try moving one blade a little bit one way or the other... the nicks don't overlap anymore and the line goes away.... a good temporary fix...

don't know if that helped or not... works good on benchtop planers too...
