sparking at electrical outlet

03/07/2008 06:02 PM andermahr

I have an outlet on the wall over a counter to the left of my stove...another to the right of the stove where my microwave is plugged in...when ever I run the microwave I can see and hear sparks inside the outlet to the left of the stove...nothing is plugged in to that outlet...the outlets are in the same wall with my stove in between...I need to know why this is happening...and is it dangerous...

Receptacle

Sparking inside a receptacle is not good and can lead to a fire.

The receptacle is bad and/or the connections are bad. Replace it and make sure that the connections are good.

And if there are wired pigtailed in the box that those connections are good.
