sugar ants

05/06/2005 06:40 PM Berrycute3

We recently moved into a 50 year old house that to me doesn't seem to have been built right. The ants are coming up through every nook and cranny and the carper. The sub floor is not concrete but 2x6 flooring (not to sure but looks like it). So there are small gaps we have sugar ants every where and unless we clean 24/7 they seem relentless. I have used ant killer, traps, bait and even bleach but they keep coming back. Any suggestions...

ant control

One of the newest products available is Maxforce Ant Gel. This was only available to professional pest control until recently, but can be purchased online at http://www.pestproducts.com/maxforce_ant_gel_bait.htm

I have used the product and it eliminated a major infestation in about one week. Ants briefly reappeard, consumed more bait and have not come back for past 6-months. Just no comparison to what you can buy at the store.

Terro Ant Bait

With sugar ants, I have successfully used "Terro Ant Bait". It comes in this clear syrupy form where you poor dime sized amounts on small aluminum foil patches placed where you see ants. The ants will then feed on this syrup and take it back to the ant nest, wiping out the entire colony. Do not be alarmed when you see long lines of ants carrying the poison back to the nest though. BUT IT WORKS!
